De origen judio, su nombre verdadero fue Abram Orovitz, y entre sus peliculas las hay buenas, menos buenas y francamente malas. Entre las primeras, sin duda, Estrella del destino; entre las ultimas, tambien sin duda, Sola ante el peligro. Despues de dirigir su ultimo largometraje, Cervantes (1967), protagonizado por el actor aleman Horst Buchholz, estuvo casi dos decadas trabajando para television.
